Where’s the Conservatives?

I’m sure most Americans aren’t too concerned about the 2008 elections just yet. The fact is though if you’re a serious candidate you have to already be in the game if you plan on being a serious contender. In 2004 both parties were scrambling to please the church vote, I’m sure if it wasn’t for the masses of moral voters hitting the booths Bush wouldn’t be in office. I don’t feel as a conservative that my vote was worthwhile, Bush may have spoken for us conservatives but little progress has been made. If you ask me I will admit that every politician plays politics, I’m not speaking of the old cliché that all politicians are liars but they sure do play a good game in talking you into voting for them.

2008 looks rather grim for any conservative who votes pro-life or pro-marriage. Last election it was all about pleasing the church goers; this time it’s all about pleasing the democrats. The Republican Party was kicked to their knees in the house and senate and everyone is scrambling to bow to their voting demographic in hopes they can save the presidency in 08. I hate to burst their bubbles but you can’t ignore the conservative base in America. I won’t stand or vote for anyone who votes for “choice”. To me it’s not a game; life is no game but with Giuliani as ‘our’ front runner you can tell what is in store for 08. Giuliani might be a great leader but I don’t care what he says he is a democrat with a republican label. He’s pro-choice and pro-gay marriage, how is that republican? I don’t like the game that the Republican Party is playing but supported such a socially liberal “republican”.

There is hope for us conservatives. Luckily enough there is a senator from Kansas that is running for President. Sam Brownback is a conservative who is a true republican. With one of his goals being to overturn Roe V. Wade this is a man that I can get behind. Don’t be foolish, no matter who wins the election the war in Iraq will be taken care of. I’m sure the Democratic Party will try and push to get us out the next day but I’m not too sure if that promise will be upheld. Just like any other politician they will say whatever they have to to get your vote but they know what we are doing is the right thing. We need a president in office who isn’t afraid to protect the life of the unborn and to protect the sanctity of marriage. So when the politicians start claiming to be pro-life make sure to look at their record, if you want a real conservative Brownback is your man and if you value life than there is no one else you should vote for.
