Thoughts on Today’s Democratic Debate
-
It’s easy to ignore my thoughts on tonight’s debate, I am an outspoken Republican who is very unimpressed with any Democrat who is running for 2008. It is in this sense that I bring my opinion; don’t expect a non-bias opinion because I am a conservative and rather vocal about it. Watching tonight’s debate I have discovered that each candidate is in love with the other. I heard love in the air every other sentence as one candidate complimented the other. It’s rather simple; the democrats don’t really care who wins in ‘08 as long as it is one of them. The entire debate was very stale, each candidate did it’s best to sound modest and to make sure they said nothing of offense to one another. I think when this is over they all should go on a date; seriously get a room.
It’s easy to see that the number one topic of discussion is the war in Iraq. It’s also easy to see that each candidate would do the exact same thing; duck and run for cover. All but one candidate has been playing politics as of late, voting to deny our troops the funding they need. There is no doubt that we are going to be in Iraq for awhile longer so why not give them the money they need? The Democrats are too busy worrying about being hippies to take in to account the seriousness of this war. Each took turns playing the “I wouldn’t of voted” by showing off their perfect hindsight. Well of course no one would do something if in the end it would be decided as wrong; it’s called a mistake. We all wouldn’t have done something that was wrong if we knew then but the fact is we didn’t know then; no one knows something before it happens. The sad thing is that they care about the world’s view on America way more than it’s safety. Obama has the gull to claim that recent attempts of attacks on America being stopped means nothing for the war on terror; the prevention of such attacks does not mean Bush’s efforts are working (according to Obama). Not to mention pretty boy Edwards thinks there is no such thing as the war on terror; at least Clinton was willing to reply admitting that there definitely is a war on terror.
Here’s what bothered me; social issues were not discussed. Throughout a slow and boring two hours I did not hear one mention of abortion. CNN did a horrible job of dealing with all the issues, gay marriage was barely touched and I don’t think we need to hear any more opinions on Iraq, we know where they stand. If they are afraid to stand by their opinions on abortion than they need to run for a different office. Believe it or not the entire country is not liberal; there is a large amount of us with moral values that hate abortion. I want to see their people asked some other serious questions, stop dodging the tough questions to save your skin. It’s hilarious that only one person raised their hands when asked “should English be declared the official language”. Hillary spent the whole debate dodging any rhetorical question; such a coward shouldn’t be running this country if they can’t answer simple questions.
It’s simple, I am no closer to voting for a democrat than I ever was. Am I open to it? Of course I am, I am open to voting for whoever is the best choice. I will not vote for anyone ready to throw us into the fire over Iraq by enforcing hazardous plans and I surely won’t vote for someone who is so obviously against every single moral value I hold. I’m sure there is a large amount of people out there very happy with their Democrats but I don’t think they can win with this attitude. If you are going to run on only the war than you better dig a little deeper; not all Americans are so shallow. I don’t agree with Rudy on abortion but at least he and others are answering these important issues. Democrats; stop hiding from these very important social issues by spending your time hating Bush, it’s not working for me.

Not to be too critical, just curious why this entry was tagged with Christianity? It seems to me there is no connection.

It was tagged as so because I am a Christian and tag my posts as so to represent my posts with what I am.

Aight, just curious. I myself am a devoted follower of Jesus. I look forward to reading more of your blog, as we obviously have a very different take on things. Be blessed!

Thoughts on Today’s Democratic Debate « Patrick Britton
This is a writing on my thoughts of today’s debate. I am always interested to hear everybody’s opinion even if I don’t agree even though I admit it is hard sometimes. Today’s debate was a bit stale but I guess that was to be expected.

Why are all topics up for discussion if you never mention genocide in Darfur?

All topics are up for discussion, I didn’t say I was discussing them all. By all means the genocide in Darfur needs to be handled and it’s taken way too long as it is. I was replying to someone who says we have different takes on issues so I was welcoming such discussion as well as all discussion on all topics.
