This is nothing new. Who was surprised when they heard the latest from John Edwards? “One of the things they should be asked to do is drive more fuel efficient vehicles.” Says Edwards, in which he answered “Yes” when asked if he would tell them to give up their SUVs. So while the environmentalists aren’t telling you to use less toilet paper they are gunning to take away your vehicles. So what’s the issue? Oil of course. But don’t tell them that we need to produce more oil because they will scoff. Use corn, drive a clown car, walk to work but heavens no, we must not make more of that black evil. There are many reasons corn won’t cut it, here’s a great article on that. So as each Democratic, and Republican, candidate circles to please the environmentalist my question remains; are trees a more important priority than human life?

It’s easy as a conservative to dig into the abortion issue but how can’t I? Abortion is widely believed to be, by liberals, to not even big a big issue. But when it comes to saving a tree the issue can’t be important enough. This sounds like some people have their priorities backwards. Global warming is a growing concern, for some, and I’m sure it will become a very hot button issue. Politicians will swoon for the tree huggers’ confidence and they of course will ask for more than ever necessary. According to the newly released Farmer’s Almanac, which is almost never wrong, we should expect a rather brisk winter. I’m sure however that that’s caused by global warming as well, because of course colder is part of the term “Global Warming“.

Don’t get me wrong, I love breathing fresh air and I’m a sucker for fresh water like the rest of us. The Republican party is fooling themselves if they think they are going to play politics with the moral voter. I expect the Democrats to say whatever they have to to win a vote but don’t expect me to endorse a candidate who spends more time talking about ethanol than the troubles in Sudan or the infanticide against our own unborn children. Glamor boy Edwards knows what he has to do to win the Liberal vote and he’s doing it. Not far from legalizing gay marriage between trees Edwards is desperate. We need to worry about the economy that’s for sure but let’s put the effort towards saving what really matters first; life. If you truly think the world is melting then feel free to hike to work but you can’t expect to force people into that while mainstream abortion clinics are the praise of the Liberal tongue.
