Hello Mr. Thompson

So Fred is in, I’m sure we can start to expect him to pop up everywhere. The GOP is gushing and I’m sure they are happy that he has joined the race. While the other candidates have been working out on the road Fred has been coasting by, somehow getting the appeasement of the country. One thing’s for sure, Fred is very popular. But like I stated in my latest blog fame doesn’t amaze me. Once he gets involved in the debates we can really see what he is all about, until then he’s another face pushing the same issues. I’m sure he’ll say he hates abortion, I’m sure he will say the winning the war is important, I’m sure he’ll say he is a true conservative but to me he’s just another face in the crowd that doesn’t interest me. Huckabee has been the only candidate that has stood out, the rest are boring or just echoing each other. We have Paul; the man who doesn’t belong. We have Giuliani; the super mayor who’s popularity is only possible because of a tragedy. Then there’s Huckabee; the man who is more interesting than any other politician I have ever heard speak. Now we have Thompson, who are you Fred?

I am not saying Fred isn’t a worthy candidate. It is very clear to me that he has come at a time when people are starting to get tired of the same old candidates. It’s also clear to me that Fred is a very popular man and I respect that but I’m not looking for the most famous candidate to vote for. Thompson has a lot to offer it seems and I want to hear from him, I hope that he takes Huckabee up on his offer for a debate. I’m glad to see another conservative Republican in the race, with people like Paul and Giuliani it was starting to feel like our party has been hijacked by liberals in disguise. Whatever the case I can see him mixing it up, once I actually see him in a debate I can give an honest opinion on him rather than my mere assumptions. Whatever the case we need to see him under pressure, we need to hear his visions as well as answers to problems plaguing this nation. Fred, you’re against abortion but can you stop it? The Iraq war, how are you going to fix this? Many more questions need to be asked and I look forward to hearing his answers

I’m sure candidates on the lower end of the totem pole aren’t very happy that he has joined the race. I think some of those planning to pull out of the race will most likely decide to do so because of him. He has been climbing the polls for weeks and as time goes on he will continue edging to the top. I expect Huckabee to be following him in that direction, people are definitely starting to see that Mike is the man for the job. The reason I came to support Huckabee was his sharp and honest answers he gave to those tough questions. He never had to pull a Hillary and duck any questions, he simple looks at the camera and answers sincerely from his heart. If you would like to see Fred and Mike in a head to head debate check out the post on Huckabee’s site and cosign the proposal. I’m sure a lot of us would like to see these two debate and knowing how sharp Huckabee is it would be interesting to see.
