Iranian President, terrorist sympathizer and Holocaust denier Ahmadinejad is going to be in New York on September 24th to speak to the U.N. General Assembly. Then there’s the interesting part, he is trying to visit ground zero on his visit. For what purpose? I can only imagine the reasonings, perhaps he is looking for inspiration. We should not even be allowing such a publicity stunt to cross out minds let alone find time to consider it’s approval. I can’t imagine anyone seeing no problem with this, as the leader of the number one harborer of terrorism this man shouldn’t even be in the U.S. But of course, he’s here to deal with the U.N. so he must be here to settle his differences! Yeah, I’ll believe that when Usama shows up as his date.

A couple of Presidential candidates have stood up to share their opinion on the idea. Romney was quoted by the New York Sun saying that the plan was “shockingly audacious.” From the Thompson camp, “it is an insult to the memories of those who died on 9/11 at the hands of terrorists, and those who have fought terrorism for years, to allow the president of the world’s top state sponsor of terrorism to step foot at ground zero,” a spokeswoman for Senator Thompson, Karen Hanretty, said. “Iran is responsible for supplying weapons and supporting extremist who are killing U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan to this very day.” More quotes from the Sun.

We’ll see where this goes but I can not imagine the reasons behind letting this mad man near ground zero let alone in the United States no matter what excuse he has.

Update #1:
Even though the NYPD denied his request, Ahmadinejab is still planning to visit ground zero according to Michelle Malkin.

WABC Reports:

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad requested to visit Ground Zero during an upcoming trip to New York. That request was rejected Wednesday. But a source tells Eyewitness News that the decision may not stop him.

A law enforcement source says the Iranian mission to the United Nations has informed the Secret Service that the Iranian president intends to visit Ground Zero Monday at 10 a.m.

The source says regardless of the NYPD’s rejection of the request for a Ground Zero tour, Iran’s president and his entourage will be accompanied by a Secret Service protective detail, a detail provided to all heads of state when they visit the United States.

This is INSANE! If there isn’t a massive protest I will be offended, the only reason I wouldn’t be there is because I live in Pennsylvania and I am currently broke! This maniac does not deserve to be roaming around New York, spitting in the face of those lost on 9/11 and their families. Somebody should deny this man the right to do so, how can we allow such an event? I wonder if there will be any snipers roaming around, I’m not suggesting anything but you never know.
