For those that don’t know, I officially endorse Mike Huckabee for President and I am also a blogger for Huckabee. I believe that Mike is the best of a great crowd and I feel that he is a perfect choice for a lot of people. Mike’s campaign seems to be doing things right, I know the online community is a very important piece of the pie for any presidential candidate’s overall campaign. Mike holds blogger conference calls every few weeks and I think it’s great that he shows his bloggers that they are important to him by giving them his ear.

Huckabee’s latest online move is being declared “vertical day”. They have been talking about “V Day” on the blog for a week or so now and I didn’t know what it was. I actually thought it might mean “Victory” but I guess I had no idea.

The Idea Behind Vertical Day

Everywhere I go on the campaign trail, I meet voters with a real thirst for a healthy discussion of the issues. Ultimately, people don’t care whether an issue comes from the left or the right. What they want to talk about are ideas that lift America up and make us better. It’s what I call “Vertical Politics.”

This sounds rather interesting to me, here are further details from the blog section of MikeHuckabee.com.

On Monday, our campaign has set aside 24 hours, for what we are calling a “Vertical Day”. The focus of Vertical Day will be a discussion of the most important issues facing America. The plan is to promote my positions on these issues through video and personal blogs, and to have an online conversation with voters about our ideas, the solutions we see possible, our hopes for America and the challenges we face.

They will also have a system in place that keeps track of the traffic each site directs to the V Day site. To finish off Vertical Day, they will be having a raffle of the top referrers and two winners will get to go to the YouTube debate on November 28th in St. Petersburg, FL with Mike. How cool is that?
