Miller, The Queer of Beers, is at it again. When I think of Miller Beer I think of cheap, crappy beer. Well, now I'll think, leather and queer beer. It seems they are trying to attract all sorts of customers, last year their main concern was illegal aliens. This time Miller decided it would be a great idea to sponsor the Folsom Street Fair that takes place in San Francisco. What makes things offensive is the organizations decision to mock the last supper. You can't be a queer parade without offending Christians now can you?
It seems Miller realized their mistakes, or, decided that small demographic wasn't worth alienating a far larger one. Miller has asked that their logo be removed, the group replied and said that they didn't mean to offend!
There was no intention to be particularly pro-religion or anti-religion with this poster; the image is intended only to be reminiscent of the ‘Last Supper’ painting. We hope that people will enjoy the artistry for what it is - nothing more or less. Many people choose to speculate on deeper meanings.
Oh, I just love famous paintings depicting Jesus as a Homosexual with dildos and such laying around. That's not anti-Christian at all I swear! I like how people now a days want to call this kind of garbage art. I guarantee if you put a pig somewhere in there with Muhammad's face on it they would repent and seek forgiveness.
Even though Miller is doing it's best to look like they no longer enjoy the leather they are still sponsoring the event. This from the NYSun:
As of yesterday, the Miller Light and Miller Genuine Draft logos, are still on the poster on the fair’s Web site. It also lists the beers as “presenting sponsors” of the event, along with two “hardcore” pornography sites, Nakedsword.com and TitanMen.com.
So if you're one of those Christian Miller drinkers you might want to rethink your selection. The people in charge of this parade have the right to be offensive, go ahead and do what you wish. Corporations on the other hand have a responsibility to know that anything they support may be boycotted by their consumers. Considering their reply to this situation it's clear they are willing to sacrifice as many sales as it takes to support the LGBT community.
“We are and will continue to be supportive [of Folsom Street Fair and the LGBT community],” said Julian Green, director of media relations of Miller Brewing Company, Wednesday afternoon.
Miller has not requested a refund of any sponsorship money, Green said.
Than again I doubt they care, I highly doubt churches are on their top buyers list.
