Newt Will NOT Be Running For President

3_22_092807_gingrich_newtEven though I just wrote a piece earlier today on Newt messing with the idea of running, FoxNews is reporting that he is definitely not running for President. Gingrich is expected to announce later today that he not only won't be running but that he legally can't. What seems interesting is the sudden change from maybe to no way. It's obvious that he has priorities and when he looked into it he realized there we legal conflictions.

"Newt is not running," spokesman Rick Tyler said. "It is legally impermissible for him to continue on as chairman of American Solutions (for Winning the Future) and to explore a campaign for president."

Gingrich, gave himself 4-to-1 odds against a White House run, also hinted at an interest in pursuing the Republican nomination.

Gingrich joked with FOX News more than a year ago that his flirtation with a White House run was in part to sell books and give lectures, and to focus the debate on his issues.

For several months Gingrich said he would run for president if he could raise $30 million dollars. No candidate in this race has ever raised that much in one quarter.

So that settles it, Fox will be having an interview with Gingrich at 5 p.m. ET on "The Big Story."

    Anyone disappointed?
