Would A Rudy Nomination Spawn A Conservative Independent Ticket?

  • news_second The thought of Hillary Clinton becoming president makes me shiver. There isn’t a single person running for President that I dislike more. Rudy Giuliani is another candidate that I just can’t support. Conservatives like Sean Hannity might be able to get behind Rudy but to me it’s the same as getting behind Hillary. This is a Republican nominee that I would have a very hard time voting for, I suppose he’s a couple notches better than Hillary but it’s still a hard pill to swallow.

This brings up a very reasonable question, if Rudy wins the nomination, will a Conservative run as an independent? Rudy running for President for the Republican party will single handedly alienate the entire conservative core of the party. You will have your die hard Republicans that will vote for whoever pops up but there’s people like me who vote because we feel they speak for us. For me, I vote Republican because the majority of them are Pro-Life, Pro-Family and overall hold conservative values. Rudy may be fiscally conservative but it takes more than that to receive the conservative go-ahead.

One thing is for sure, if Rudy wins and in response to that a conservative runs as an independent, the Democrats will win the office without a doubt. If we are to win the office in 2008 we need to have a proven conservative running for President as a Republican. It’s very asinine for the Republican party to completely ignore their core voters. If they want to do that they might as well hand in the towel before election day because they will end up losing.

Rudy is not someone who doesn’t know where he stands on abortion, this is a man who not only supports abortion and partial-birth abortion he even supports the government funding it. He believes it is a woman’s “constitutional right” which is complete baloney. He misses the ship again with gay marriage, which he supports, something that is definitely not what most Catholics would approve of; yet he does. In reality a Rudy Vs. Hillary election would be an easy decision. If Hillary wins she can just have Rudy as her vice.
