Huckabee and McCain; The Democrats’ Dream Ticket.

If you were a Democrat, maybe you are, and you were running for president who would you want to run against? Surely not a strong candidate, not someone that represented their party wholeheartedly or could capture the heart of soul of America and their vote. You’d want someone at odds with their party, almost as disliked as they are liked. For the Republicans that person is Hillary and for the Democrats the dream ticket would be Huckabee and McCain.I don’t know if they would want Huckabee as President or McCain, I’m sure that’s just semantics for them. The liberal media has been so soft on Huckabee and McCain that it is obvious that they are rooting for one of their nominations. When Dems look at open borders McCain and tax hike Mike they see candidates that they can defeat without breaking a sweat. They see people that share their values, their policies and their tendencies. You have two candidates so far left on immigration that they should be Democrats. Higher taxes (Mike calls it hope), amnesty and easy streets for murderers are not values held by conservatives.
You can argue up and down about McCain’s diplomatic abilities (I call it his “do what makes them happy” abilities) or about Mike’s strong pro-life record but these are two candidates that are far from conservative and far from what Republicans will be looking for this election. The only reason these two are doing so well is 1.) Independents have been voting and 2.) Mike is a populist that sweet talks evangelicals into voting for him. Once we got into the heavy 1-on-1 debates Huckabee or McCain wouldn’t stand a chance. You’re not going to be able to pass off a moderate to true Republicans, we just won’t swallow that pill.
Once we get into the primaries where Republicans vote (McCain has been unable to win votes of Republicans), you will see McCain fall in the polls. Once we are looking at states that aren’t so evangelical heavy you will see Huck fall in the polls. I predict Romney to rise as front runner with Thompson in close second. While a McCain-Huckabee ticket is a burn, Romney-Thompson is a solid win for actual Republicans. Call me insane but I think Republicans will end up picking someone that actually shares their views, who knows, maybe I’m dreaming.
