1343591880_3a4b148467_m.jpgFred Thompson has been taking a beating in the polls and hasn’t been able to pull much out as far as victories go in the caucuses and primaries. Fred has been contemplating dropping out and as the only real conservative hope it would be a major loss for the party. I believe if he sticks to it he will gain momentum and will become a threat to McCain and Huckabee. While the fancy talk has been impressing the easily swayed, Fred has real answers and is now the one solid hope for the Republican party.

With Hunter now out of the race, conservatism is very close to losing the battle this November. Some people are siding with Huckabee because of his evengelical flair and McCain “seems” like the most electable. The problem that has risen is that Republicans are voting as carelessly as Democrats do. For a Democratic candidate to win all they have to do is smooth talk their way into the nomination. If you have a good amount of charisma and enough money to get you by than you can be the Democratic nominee. The Republican party is supposed to be more than that. We are supposed to fight for conservatism which used to be the core of the party and who we were.

The new conservatism has taken over. Any hope for any resemblance of a Reagan Republican is quickly fading away. The Republican party is falling for two-bit politicians that are great at the game of talk but don’t measure up to what standards most of us use to live by. It’s hard to tell what these two moderates will do when in office. It’s clear that immigration will still be an issues and who knows what will happen to the economy. In the beginning I figured that Romney or Giuliani would be the worse case scenerio but now one of these two may be the best choices of what’s left. Conservatives will be left to chose socially liberal Giuliani or we-think-he’s-conservative Romney.

Fred has a lot to say that doesn’t fit in today’s 30-second media. Take some time to hear what he has to say and I’m sure you will come around as well. If you find yourself fallen for Huckabee I urge you to research his record before you align yourself with this fiscally liberal Republican. McCain is not someone we should embrace either, he’s a great guy but his loyalty to the party is very questionable. One sided conservatism is not the answer if we wish to uphold our parties moral code. We must find the most consistent conservative in the field and help them win the nomination. There’s no question in my mind that that person is Fred Thompson.
