The big day is here, we may just know who the nominee is going to be by tonight. Will we know? I can’t say for sure but I don’t believe it will be finished by tonight. Of course will know for sure, with the rest of you, who will be celebrating and who will be planning to head home. This isn’t to say that we will know for sure who will end up with the nomination. We may be looking at a race so tight that things will not be settled. Either way today is the Super Bowl of politics and things are going to be crazy.

Statement from Obama camp;
Obama’s victory in Georgia was achieved through a broad coalition of voters. Well with the McCain win in California he has definitely come out on top today. Many were predicting a McCain sweep and we have witnessed just that. The fact has become that the Republican party is no longer speaking for conservatives. While McCain continues his rush we as conservatives will be expected to shut up and accept what has become of our party. When it comes down to it we will have to choose between a liberal and a liberal. There is no doubt in my mind that we are left with absolutely nothing. If McCain goes on to win the nomination every single conservative might as well stay at home. This is a situation where you are screwed no matter which way you go.
This is a huge loss for our party, for our future and for any hope for the conservative movement. Period.
We must fight on and we must not let our party fall into the hands of a liberal-independent.

Here we go! Go Mitt! He’s got a shot at California, despite the governator’s McCain endorsement…

Things are really breaking McCain’s way. What would this race be like if Rudy was still in it? McCain wouldn’t have swept the Eastern states like he did. What would it be like if Huckabee hadn’t cut some obvious deal with McCain, or, worse yet, Ron Paul’s people hadn’t sided with Huckabee in the West Virginia Caucus, giving him the edge there?
We just keep on fighting, though. Mark Levin says this could lead to a revitalization of the conservative movement- people like us (and hopefully some that are actually in politics or are planning to be in politics) getting more and more involved.
I hope Romney stays in long enough for me to vote for him in Texas. Otherwise I might write in Fred Thompson as a protest.
