Friday Open Forum: Share Your Thoughts on the Election Thus Far.

  • Being slightly lazy, but also interested, I have opened commenting for all so that we can have an open discussion on what you think about the elections so far. While I usually have to approve of comments, as long you you keep it clean you are free to fire away. The main topic of discussion is specifically: what are you feelings on the race thus far. A lot has happened in the past couple months and there are a lot of us that aren’t that happy with what we have been dealt. Unless you supported McCain this whole time you are one of many that have to accept someone other than their chosen candidate.

The one topic that has gotten the most discussion on this blog has been the disdain from myself and fellow conservatives towards several candidates in the Republican party that are/were running for president. While it’s very clear that we are going to have John McCain as our candidate the angst will not be going away anytime soon. Do you find yourself among those that are unwilling to comply? Does it mean so much to you that you would rather have Clinton or Obama than John McCain? I would be interested in hearing you elaborate those feelings. I completely understand the logic behind it but would like to hear some deep thoughts other than the fact you hate John McCain. With so much riding on this election I would hate to see it thrown away for the sake of pride.

From this it comes to the discussion of the Democratic hopefuls. It’s no mystery that Republicans can’t stand either Obama or Clinton. My question would be: who do you see as the worse case scenario? Hillary Clinton is the winner when you look at what the party feels as a whole but I don’t feel that she is as nearly as destructive as Obama would be. I don’t agree with her stances but her feelings are backed up by atleast a little bit of logic while Obama is all rhetoric and emotion. When you add his inexperience and zealous dedication to liberalism to the fact that he is foolish and ready to drive the country off the edge you are left with the largest mess in American history. We may be looking at an overwhelming national debt and a war that seems like it will go on forever but there’s no telling the damage Senator Obama will serve us in his four years in office.

While I’d love to hear you discuss these specific topics I am interested in anything else as well. For the sake of clarity just keep it in the topic of politics. While most of time you sit and read what I have to say I want to take the time to give you the microphone. No matter what party you are affiliate with this post’s motive it to give you a voice. So go ahead and voice your disgust, your excitement or any other emotion in between as you see fit.

I really believe in the conservative movement. And my vote at the polls in the Texas primary will be for Dr. Alan Keyes. If you do anything political today, go to alankeyes.com or renewAmerica.us. Dr. Keyes is still on the ballot and he deserves the support of the conservative nation. At the website view his debates with Barak Obama for the Illinois Senate position back in 2004. Dr. Keyes entered the race late b/c the one running, I believe running vs. Obama, exited for some reason. Dr. Keyes is all about conservatism and knows more about things the others don’t know that he should be our man in the Presidency of the USA.
Also if you want good reason to not have Obama as the next president check out http://www.drudgereport.com and read editorialist Cal Thomas’ editorial 2/20 about our hopes.
    Sincerely, Jim C.

My thoughts: I think that you got a very low response to this open forum because a few weeks ago you called McCain a shamnesty pushing moderate and no-spine-McCain. This week you are supporting him. May I borrow a line? “You can’t even rely on those you consider one of your own.” It’s so odd, like some days you’re eating lots of chocolate and taking leisurly baths, then the next you’re wearing uncomfortable, wool sweaters, and have run out of Folgers. You’re moody!

I won’t even go into your shameless remarks about Mike Huckabee, a man that would obviously give more than take, without question, on his knees, for your safety, no matter what. It’s strange to see you diss a Godly man but hug the McCain. Very odd, in my opinion anyhow.

Thanks for reminding me of things I said a few weeks ago, even though I have a memory, it’s nice to be reminded of something that has nothing to do with this topic. Being critical of John McCain does not mean that I can’t also realize he is going to be our nominee and can’t let myself help Obama or Hillary win the Presidential election. You should be worried about those ready to help Hillary become president rather than accept what we are left with. That is dangerous, I am realistic.

Mike Huckabee being a Godly man does not exempt him from ridicule. You act like I am not allowed to form my own opinion and change it at will. I don’t need to explain to you the mass amount of liberal stances that Mike takes. Godly or not he is not a good choice for president.

I can’t imagine people standing against McCain the rest of the election. I am shocked to see so many people willing to help the Democratic party. McCain is pro-life and ready to lead us to victory in Iraq. I need a few hours to explain the things wrong with Hillary or Obama.

Also I got a low response because this a relatively new blog that isn’t popping like some other mega blogs. So, it’s not because people disagree it’s because they’re not here. Yet.

    Well,
    it’s your choice.

    Clinton round three,
    the Obama tragedy

    or

    McCain.

    Hard choice?
    Shouldn’t be.

How about … the new Republican revolution, after the banishment of the liberal(RINO) wing of the party in 2010. If Clinton or Obama win we will likely take a super-majority in Congress in 2010. We can only do this if we get rid of the liberal plague that threatens the GOP. That liberal plague is currently being lead by no other than John McCain. He is dangerous and his ideas and stances on critical issues are completely and utterly wrong!

Santorum/Watts/Thompson/Allen ‘08 - It time to write in some true conservatives.

Hard choice? Impossible. I can’t vote for Obama, and won’t vote for McCain. (liberal and definitely a bad choice of a running mate) Guess I’ll write in this year. I’m thinking about someone that actually has a handle on economics. Not one that has a policy.
