Obama’s Radical Abortion Stance

Continuing from yesterday’s topic on McCain’s lack of respect for pro-life voters I want to dive into Obama’s disturbing stance on abortion. Not only does Obama take the traditional liberal stance of not interfering with a mother’s right to abort their child. He also has an interesting view on how to deal with babies that survive botched abortions. Obama was probably hoping to sweep this one under the rug but his cold opinion on the “burden” of keeping a dying baby alive is anything less than disgusting.

I want to get straight into the quote that should cause any decent human being to shudder.

    A little back story first.

People forget this issue came up more than once in Illinois. In 2001, Obama was concerned about abortion rights and the impact the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) would have on abortion rights. In 2002, those concerns were addressed and fixed in the legislation. Now Obama’s concerns were more clear. His views on life had no where else to hide. Read more of the back story via RedState.

So –and again, I’m –I’m not going to prolong this, but I just want to be clear because I think this was the source of the objections of the Medical Society. As I understand it, this puts the burden on the attending physician who has determined, since they were performing this procedure, that, in fact, this is a nonviable fetus; that if that fetus, or child -however way you want to describe it -is now outside the mother’s womb and the doctor continues to think that it’s nonviable but there’s, let’s say, movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead, that, in fact, they would then have to call a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved. Is that correct?

    Here is the transcript.

Barack Obama is delusional. The fact that he is considering a child that has come out of the womb not viable and just a fetus is disturbing. Mr. Obama, if your wife decided to abort one of your children and it failed, the doctor was standing there looking at the dying child, that is breathing, would you consider your child viable? Is the child not worth more to you than that? Are you really so pompous that if a women decided the baby is not worth keeping that it can be killed as brutally as necessary?

May God have mercy on you and other people who think like this. We’re not talking about abortion anymore, we’re talking about a failed abortion, where the child is alive and breathing, and you call it a burden to save the child’s life? The complete detachment of all emotions for a living being should shock even the most ardent abortion supporters. You’re talking about partial birth abortion. Not only that, you’re approving of the literal punishment of a dying child at a doctor’s discretion. Any man that can process this situation in these terms, with absolutely no conviction, doesn’t belong anywhere near the White House.

I’d like to end with a suggestion for Obama. Obama, you and your wife need to sit your kids down. Explain to them your stance on abortion. Allow them to think about the implications. You need to let them know that they are just a choice. If you were short of cash the month they were born let them know aborting them would have been an acceptable decision. You won’t do it. You know why? Abortion is a horrific procedure that stops a beating heart. Now, the next time your have a child, nothing more than a burden, go ahead and abort it just to make a point. It’s not a real baby. It’s just a fetus, right?

Another great topic of discussion would be the procedures of abortion. There’s nothing to it right? The purpose of the BAIPA was to protect babies that were alive after failed abortions. Basically, after a partial birth abortion had failed the child was still alive, considered a person, and needed to be treated–this is what Obama considered the burden. A Prostaglandin or Live Birth Abortion is done in the second or third trimester. Prostaglandins are naturally occurring chemical compounds which assist in the birthing process. For the abortion procedure, artificial prostaglandins are injected into the amniotic sac which induces violent labor and leads to the birth of a child usually too young to survive.

So the doctor would perform this procedure and for one reason or another his technique didn’t work. The burdensome baby is still alive? So, what he needs to do is call in another doctor to help him save this nonviable clump of cells. But Mr. Obama didn’t think it was worth it. The child is alive! It’s breathing! It’s a human! But there’s no way in hell a doctor should be burdened to save a living child that no one wants.

Then you need to explain to them your stances regarding the BAIPA. Explain to them that you think it’s a burden for a doctor to save a child he failed to disgard of. That breathing child isn’t considered viable anymore. It’s alive and outside of the womb, but it’s just a fetus, don’t be fooled by the screaming. Dig down deep and discuss this all with them. But like I said, you won’t. So you need to explain to me how I am supposed to feel about this. Is the baby or fetus–however way you want to describe it–too much of a burden to save? I don’t need to ask you that. You already made your feelings clear. Is that correct?
