The Democratic Stars Have Aligned

The Democratic convention is set to explode into a beautiful display of united perfection when Obama accepts the Democratic nomination for President. Let’s not think about how the convention is nothing more than a well rehearsed, double dipped event with only one goal in mind; inspiring it’s sheep. In today’s modern world you think it would be hard to sway a large group of people with scripted speeches and scripted emotions. You’d be thinking wrong.
Michelle Obama set the night off as we would expect. She told the world what it didn’t know; she’s a normal person who is a mother and a wife. The speech played out like a chintzy made for TV movie. That’s the way these conventions work. Michelle probably doesn’t know the meaning of house wife in the terms most Americans do. Her job is to prove to you otherwise. She’s not about to mention she has no idea how to bake a cake. That’s what the chef is for.
The second night threw things into high gear. They had us all guessing what craziness would unfold when the bitter and enraged hit the stage. Hillary and Bill. They actually had you thinking there would be some sort of revolt. It’s bound to set in for the Clintons, their era is over, America is tired of the them. It’s the same feeling most American’s have for Bush. We’ve seen it, time to move on. The Clinton’s speeches were nothing surprising. Hillary stepping in the middle of the roll call to shut down the vote was forced and definitely done with very little realistic enthusiasm.
Barack’s speech is going to be moving and inspirational. It’s not hard for Barack, he’s articulate and expresses his deepest feelings–the ones his speech writers wrote–with ease. The implications of his nomination is profound on it’s own. Barack is the first black man to be nominated for President by a major party. I think it’s absolutely awe inspiring. America has been characterized as a racist nation for quite some time. If this doesn’t prove our willingness to move forward I don’t believe anything can. It’s his policies I disagree with, not his skin color.
When the precisely performed play is all said and done it will come down to the only thing that really matters in the end; the issues. Barack is a sensational speaker but where does he stand on abortion? Does he have the life experience that will prepare him for the toughest job in America? When the times get resilient will he have the back bone to stand tall and prove that America is strong and ready for whatever is thrown at it? He’s inspirational, well dressed, capable of bringing a crowd to his knees; but is he ready to lead? I don’t think so.
