The past few rumors that the nutroots tried to pass around have been completely torn to pieces. This doesn’t mean that they are going to stop making things up. The latest rumor registers as the worse because it only takes two seconds to poke holes through the accusation.
This one is being drummed up by Time Magazine, here’s what they claim:
Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. “She asked the library how she could go about banning books,” he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. “The librarian was aghast.” That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn’t be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving “full support” to the mayor.
The supposed book list was listed on librarian.net by a commenter and quickly passed around by the blogosphere as truth. Quick, look at the list, then I’ll explain how foolish all of you sharing this are.

Witches, Pumpkins, and Grinning Ghosts: The Story of the Halloween Symbols by Edna BarthFirst problem? It’s a direct copy from here.
Second problem? Several of these books weren’t even released when she was mayor. This doesn’t stop the nutroots from spreading this as truth. Maybe she did try to ban some books, more likely not, these people don’t believe in researching facts before claiming their truths.
Barack Obama’s uncontrollable group of bloggers on his official website have a habit of speaking through their rear ends. You would think they would attempt to maintain this because it represent Barack himself. Of course not, Mark Brickman from San Mateo, CA proudly reported the lies as truth on his Obama blog.
They can’t attack her record because it’s stronger than Barack’s and Barack is afraid to attack her because she is clearly sharper than him. Therefore he is letting his attack dogs do the job for him. They’ll keep this garbage coming and I’ll keep educating the sheep. Stay tuned for more.
