Discussing the Candidates

In the coming days The Daily Conservative is going to shed it’s partisan skin for a series of articles on the candidates. I am a true believer in hearing all sides of the story which is why I have decided to have an open discussion on the candidates running for president.

I am stubborn in my views but I always listen to the other side of the argument. That doesn’t mean I agree or that I always give them the benefit of the doubt. I still find it necessary to take everything in before I take a stand. After that there’s no guarantee I’ll care to listen but you get the point.

The series is going to cover the candidates running for president from all of the parties. I’m going to cover the major candidates first, Obama and McCain, but will also cover the third party candidates. The idea will be to discuss what they stand for and talk about their resume’s.

It may seem useless at this stage to introduce a candidate. I disagree, it’s not often that you get to hear the entire story without political motivation. This may be the first time you will read about the candidates without feeling like you are being conned. I do prefer McCain over Obama but that’s not saying much.

We’ll start things off tomorrow by covering Obama. For the sake of discussion we’re going to take a real look at the issues and what he believes in. Agreeing with his opinion is a whole other story. This may be the only time that you will see a conservative blogger discussing Obama fairly. Mark your calendar.

The candidates that will be covered:

    Barack Obama [Democrat]
    John McCain [Republican]
    Ralph Nader [Independent]
    Bob Barr [Libertarian]
    Chuck Baldwin [Constitution]
    Cynthia McKinney [Green]

There are some others buy they are more than likely going to get far less than 1% of the vote and will be covered at another time. They will be talked about because it doesn’t hurt to hear everyone’s message. The news media doesn’t give them the time of day but we’re better than that. Voting for some people isn’t about helping the lesser evil win. It’s about voting for the person they most identify with.

To make things easier you can subscribe to the rss, subscribe by email or keep an eye out on this category to see the articles as soon as they go live.
