If McCain Snubs the Debate how About a Substitute?

John McCain has decided to “suspend his campaign” so that he can go back to Washington to help fix the economic crises. For the first time I actually agree with Obama that they should be able to handle more than one thing at a time. McCain has decided to blow off Friday’s debate at this time because he feels it’s not the right time. I have to say that it’s complete garbage and nothing but a political stunt. McCain needs to get back to his campaigning. Washington doesn’t need his help in spending our money.

I think it’s great that McCain is attempting to set politics aside to help fix the economy. I don’t think that he needs to be involved. Our economy has been in a steady down fall for the past few months so why he is taking action now? The public outrage over this bailout doesn’t seem to matter to McCain or the rest of the Senate. People have made it clear that they do not agree with handing out $700 billion of their money to give to banks that are failing due to their own mistakes. The Senate will more than likely go through with the bailout proving that the Senate doesn’t care what we think. For the people? Yeah right!

If McCain wants to play around in Washington I think a substitute for tomorrow night’s debate should be made. I’m sure Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin would enjoy a little publicity for a change. While McCain is playing politics with anything that comes his way the third party candidate are, not surprisingly, being ignored. The chances of this happening is absolutely zero but I thought I’d complain about it anyway. The drive-by media would rather sit and talk about McCain and Obama over and over again. Every time I turn on the TV they switch from the bailout, to McCain suspending his campaign, to Obama not suspending his campaign, to having the debate and back to the bailout again. Come on people, where’s the substance?

I’ve grown tired of the political stunts. We need to get on with the debate and move on with the elections. John McCain will have plenty of time to fix the economy if he becomes president. I know that he is acting sincere but I am not stupid. He has waited for the perfect moment to suspend so he can go back and act like he is responsible for the solution. I say that we let them both get back to Washington, invite the third party candidates to come and debate so we can hear something different. Something other then Obama and McCain arguing over things they can’t fix. Am I crazy for wanting politician with substance? I guess so.

Contact your Rep and tell them to kill the bailout!
