The world's opinion of America has been on the low side over the past eight years. Now that the majority of my fellow American's have voted in a black guy we are cool again. So this is what it takes to be cool? We have to elect a socialist into the presidency before we get any respect? I'd much rather be hated then act like the rest of the world just to get some respect. It's not worth it.
The protection and well being of America comes first. Our reputation around the world is no where near the top of the list of priorities. Think about it, do we want to be safe from terrorists or talked about positively in France? I don't think voting in a guy that wants to redistribute wealth and quadruple the welfare system makes us cool. Maybe it's cool for France or Cuba but it's not cool for me.
So why hasn't American been cool before? Because the rest of the world thinks the president is the only American that exists at that given time. We're still full of the same people. The people that are the most generous human beings on earth. Barack Obama had nothing to do with President Bush donating more to fight AIDS in Africa than any other president in history. I'm also pretty sure we were cool before when our charities and organizations helped millions here at home and around the world. I think we were cool then.
America has been a pretty cool nation since it's start. It started with a neat little idea; freedom. The crazy idea that every man can be who he wants to be. America has evolved into a country where every woman and any person of race can be who they want to be as well. We started off rough but thanks to the Republican Party slavery was defeated and we have gotten cooler ever since.
I guess the world's version of cool is different than mine. I think it's cool to live in a country that gives every person the chance to be the best they can be and to achieve their dreams. They think it's cool that Barack plans on stealing what those people earned by achieving their goals to give to those that haven't made it yet. That's not cool.
