Imagine this for a moment. We're back in the primaries, way back when the field was still full of presidential hopefuls. Out of the crowd comes a well spoken black man. His campaign takes off and crowds around the world are captivated by his promise of change. He's seen as unstoppable, mocked as the messiah from the other side of the isle. Despite all the calamity he continues to fight on and the whole world stands in awe as he accepts the Republican nomination.
Wait? That's not the story of Barack Obama! Why is it not Barack Obama? The statement at the end of the paragraph of course. Would the masses swoon for a black president if he were not a Democrat? Would they go crazy for him if he were conservative? Is it all about race? Perhaps it's about the things he promises. Whatever the case, you have to wonder why they love Obama so much. I've never seen such stardom for a President.
Many people think this race had nothing to do with qualifications but was all about the skin color of the candidates. While I believe that is a large part of the equation I don't think that's enough. Did they love Clarence Thomas? Of course not. What did they do to Michael Steele? They treated him like trash. You see, it's not all about race. In reality, you are not black if you are also conservative. With all the fuss about whether or not Barack is black enough is irrelevant. The real questions is; is he liberal enough?
The answer to why they love Barack is simple. He's an ultra-left liberal promising handout and, oh yeah, he's black. I think the race issue is the back drop of the appeal. You wouldn't have one with out the other. I guerentee the community wouldn't have gone crazy if Obama was on the other ticket. The media would have smeared him into a loss like they did with McCain. That's politics folks. Therefore, people should realize Obama's skin color is not why the left loves him. He's allowed to be black because of his liberal stance. Simple as that.
