Failure may be the Only Remedy

President Bush's name was constantly on the lips of Obama throughout his campaign. The current administration was arguably the second most important factor behind people's decision to vote for Obama, second only to the economy. There's no doubt in my mind that without President Bush Obama would not have had the momentum that he did. The most important factor against McCain was the the (R) next to his name on the ballot.

If the last eight years were a lot smoother we may be looking at a President-Elect McCain instead of Obama. The worse the country does during any given administration's run the better it is for the runner up. If there's one thing people vote on it's the past. George Bush's policies and mistakes were stamped onto McCain and he never shook them off. He couldn't seem to shake the Republican Party's demons and because he failed to address the criticism Americans across the nation voted for the other guy. You have to wonder what has to happen in the next four years for the Republican Party to reclaim it's reign of power.

That's where the slippery slope begins. Does the economy have to fall flat on it's face during Obama's first term for the GOP to regain power? It's safe to say that if Obama does well he will win a second term. The last thing I am hoping for is any sort of tragedy to occur. Most Americans can agree that we want to see our country prosper. Big names in the GOP on the other hand are probably praying for rain. It's the dark side of politics none of us like but we all participate in.

What I hope to see is a complete failure of Obama's policies. What I mean by that is I hope to see his socialistic programs fail. With his plans in place the stress on the economy is going to be great. You can only pray that wisdom strikes Obama and he holds back on his tax hikes for the rich. Bring on the tax breaks for the middle class but don't over stress the job creators in a time of recession. The unemployment rate is bad enough. It could become back breaking when his tax plans go into effect.

Looking into the future the only way the GOP can win without disaster is for the American people to have a change of heart. They will have to decide if they deserve what they never earned. Our ability to handle troubled times has always been remarkable. I don't know if we can survive the reconstruction surgery the left has planned.

Our capitalist system has already been dismantled and thrown in the gutter so there's not much left to loose. If we step even further towards socialism I don't know if we'll ever be capable of repairing the damage. The last thing I want is for this nation to crumble and become reminiscent of our capitalist past. It does seem like the only way for this country to realize the mistake it is making is for it all to come crashing down. Perhaps the worse case scenerio is the only remedy to this disease called greed.
