We’re Stuck With the Clintons

Did you actually think the Clinton’s would let a little thing like losing the Democratic primaries push them out of the political scene? I had a feeling that the little charades they were playing were for a good reason. I really couldn’t see why Hillary would back down from the fight without a little incentive. I’m not sure she knew from the beginning that she would get the Secretary of State slot but it sure turned out that way. We can’t seem to win any battles these days.

The position she will receive is significant.  The Secretary of State is the head of the United States Department of State, concerned with foreign affairs. The Secretary is a member of the President’s Cabinet and the highest-ranking cabinet secretary both in line of succession and order of precedence. It’s a giant slap on the back from Obama and we all should feel a litle cold inside. No matter how hard we try we can’t get rid of the Clintons.

This is all going down despite the comments made just a couple months ago about Hillary’s lack of foreign policy experience. “What exactly is this foreign policy expertise?” Obama said to reporters in March, while flying from a campaign event in Texas. “Was she negotiating treaties? Was she handling crises? The answer is no.” This all doesn’t matter. I feel the reason she got this position is because of it’s significance. It says, “I know I got lucky so here’s a nice cabinet spot Hill.” That’s more likely the reason, not if she is qualified or not. You know Obama doesn’t care about something as silly as credentials or qualifying for the job you’re after.

Rush’s Operation Chaos was brilliant. The idea was simple; switch political parties and vote for Hillary Clinton to keep the fighting going on as long as possible. Our best hope seemed to be the anger and frustration between Obama Democrats and Hillary Democrats. There was supposedly all these Hillary Supporters switching for McCain but they never came through. This is the biggest component to why the Republican Party has fallen apart. The Democrats can unite after the nastiest of fights but we can’t even agree on a nominee.

I’m not saying we should have blindly followed McCain. I’m simply stating the truth. The difference between most Democrats is indistinguishable. They have their plans set straight and they’re going forth with them. The Republican Party has an identity crises and it’s killing us from the inside out. We don’t need to re-brand or refurbish the party. We need to unite around sound conservatism and promote politicians that conform to those principles.

We know the dangerous plans that Barack Obama has for America but we failed to educate others of what we know. The problem with America isn’t that they are suddenly a bunch of liberals. Americans are fickle and they can smell uncertainty from a mile away. We lost because the party has failed to show they deserves to lead. You can’t act like President Bush hasn’t existed for the past eight years, ignore our economic woes and jump around like a mad man during the race and expect America to vote for you. We failed because we failed to organize and execute our plans. Conservatism didn’t fail. If anything, neglecting conservatism is why the Republican Party has failed.
