Burn the Constitution to Save It
And the winner of the conservative sellout of 2008 award is? President George W. Bush! Come on down! You don’t get a trophy, you don’t get a shiny medal; you get a shoe to the face. That’s not all! You get to light the match to set aflame the constitution you recently drenched in gasoline! Isn’t the great? Not only will you be a shoe in for the nomination of worst president of all time, you get to be known as the one who finally put capitalism out of it’s misery.
Well, I have obviously made a decision to make sure the economy doesn’t collapse. I’ve abandoned free market principles to save the free market system. I think when people review what’s taken place in the last six months, uh, and put it all in one, in one, (sigh), you know, in one package, they’re realize how significantly we have moved.
You also get the moron of the year award Bushie! I suppose sometimes you have to practice satanism to save your Christianity. You often have to eat a cow to save your vegetarianism. Have sex to stay abstinent, drink to stay sober and commit adultery to save your marriage. You should write a book: “How to uphold conservative ideals by abandoning them.” You know what, I bet no one would by that book. You want to know why? Because George, you’ve become a joke. You abandoned your principles, single handily broke every rule of conservatism and made America a laughing stock around the world. Congratulations.
What’s got me steamed is that our biggest ally has become our worst enemy. How can conservatism make a rebound if people like George Bush are burned in as the image of a conservative president? America doesn’t know what conservatism anymore because of people like this labeling themselves as conservatives. You want to know why we lost the election? Because it was Obama vs the other guy. No integrity, no identity and absolutely no plan that people could believe in.
Bush’s excuse for bailing on the free market system to save it is flawed. The free market system works because it allows people to fail. Let’s say you have company “A” and “B”. “A” creates quality products and maintains itself well. Because of this it is successful and a tough competitor. “B” comes along, makes bad decisions and ends up closing shop. What we have here is Bush picking “B” off the ground when it deserves to fail. What happens with “A?” What do they get out of the deal? What does this teach “C” that comes along and sees that failure is not possible? Do you get what I’m saying?
What I didn’t mention in that equation is “D.” What’s “D?” “D” is the poor fool paying for “B’s” failure. We’re all “D”. Why should we pay for “B’s” failure? We shouldn’t have to pay for anyone’s mistakes. The idea of a free market system is to reward success and to punish failure. It’s tough, losing sucks. Not everyone can be a winner. The mentality is so bad that even our kids are taught that losing is OK. Why do you think when 16 baseball teams play in a tournament there’s 16 trophies? Everyone wins! It’s all about having fun! Sadly, there’s nothing fun about what is happening to our country.
Good riddance Mr. Bush.
